In 2013, Horizon Environmental Ltd was contracted by a UK wide building maintenance company in the social housing sector to provide ongoing licensed and non-licensed asbestos removal works across their South of England Framework project.
The works undertaken on these projects are a combination of housing stock and insurance works and have ranged from one day projects to larger refurbishment works spanning a number of weeks.
During these works the Horizon Environmental Ltd site team has conducted removal works on a number of different asbestos containing materials – asbestos insulation board, asbestos insulation debris, asbestos floor tiles, asbestos cement, asbestos textured coating and many more.
Due to the wide geographical area of these works, a number of designated teams were established to cover requirements.
The majority of works undertaken so far have been to occupied properties. To ensure client and tenant satisfaction, Horizon has taken a sensitive and proactive approach paying particular attention to organising works with tenants and discussing programmes.
Throughout the framework, there has been a number of emergency projects that have required immediate remedial action. To ensure these projects can be serviced, emergency standby teams have been implemented. These teams have been equipped with standardised equipment and material load lists so they can tackle a variety of scenarios as required.
Horizon Environmental Ltd has thus far successfully delivered over 160 projects throughout the duration of the framework. All works have been completed to schedule and within budget with high levels of praise received from the client for the high standards of works undertaken by those affiliated with the project from management level through to site team level.
